A detailed
medical history (anamnesis)
and physical examination will be obtained for every horse. If
I cannot come out to your barn, the horse owner will be supplied
with a detailed questionnaire, including instructions and sample
pictures. In such case I'm depending on owners
observations. Added photographs of eyes/sclera and
tongue are valuable.
This
questionnaire is based on TCM diagnostics and
includes observations of the tongue, eyes, skin, mucus
membranes, body fluids, odor, touch, and behavior. If I'm
collecting the information myself, pulse diagnostic is
included.
Further information includes accidents, diseases, digestive
problems, and the horses keep are important, too.
Some examination results speak for disturbances in certain meridians, for
example watery stools always include problems within the spleen meridian. All of these observations build the
diagnosis and an
individual herbal formula is being mixed. These herbs effect the meridians; in the following
few month the systems
balance is being re-established.
